The energy savings competition between non-housing buildings – CUBE – that has been transforming the culture of energy performance in France since 2013 is being exported with the launch of two independent competitions.

Launch of a CUBE Polynesia
In French Polynesia, the CUBE competition launched by the Espace info Energie de Polynésie in partnership with the SDE, ADEME, DGEE, Club EPER, CCISM and SPCPF represents a real opportunity to save energy and raise awareness about the energy transition, in a context of strong dependence on fossil fuels. While several Polynesian buildings had participated in CUBE editions in the past, this ambition to deploy the competition to the whole territory aims to accelerate the implementation of a global movement of energy efficiency and decarbonization. 15 buildings are in the running since June 2021, see you at the finish line!

The CUBE is exporting to Cambodia with the CEE COMP program
Launched in September 2021, the Cambodia Energy Efficiency Competition (CEE Comp) is organized by the Cambodia Institute of Technology and the consulting firm Sevea. The initiative is supported by Schneider Electric and the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance, funded by the European Union, Sweden and UNDP.

With 23 running buildings and the commitment of several large companies to achieve maximum energy savings through behavioral change and better equipment management, this competition allows for the reorganization of building energy performance management, the exchange of best practices and the dissemination of an energy culture. These issues are all the more important in a context where the building and construction sector is responsible for more than half of the country’s total energy consumption – ahead of industry and transport – and where the sector’s energy consumption is expected to double by 2040.
